Surveys Sent!
6 months ago – Fri, Dec 05, 2025 at 08:16:58 AM

Hello Everyone!

After a successful smoke test, we've sent out the BackerKit surveys to everyone! Please fill those out ASAP so we don't have to track you down later. If you're worried about potentially moving, you'll get the opportunity to change your address before we start shipping, so just put in your details as they stand now and you can always change it later!

You'll also get the opportunity to pick up the stretch goal add-ons you may have missed during the campaign, so keep an eye out for those! Next week, we'll start sending out digital fulfilment for what's available to people who filled out their surveys (so don't delay in getting those done).

Also, to share more good news, Frankenstein the Unconquered Vol. 1 is now in lunar previews! This means you can tell your local comic shop to preorder some copies for your friends who think Kickstarter is dumb (or pick one up for yourself if you didn't grab it during this campaign).

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is settling in for a good Holiday season. We'll be in touch!

We Did It! + Last stretch goal unlocked!
7 months ago – Wed, Nov 12, 2025 at 08:21:51 AM

Hello Everyone!

This morning we closed out our campaign at just over $7500, unlocking stretch goal #2 and getting everyone a free digital short comic along with a new cover for the book!

Thank you all so much for being here and getting this project where it needed to go, I know Dahlia is super excited to get started on the new pages and that her artwork is going to be featured as a cover.

Let's quickly go over what's going to happen next:

  • Kickstarter will charge you for your pledges, mostly that will happen right away, but if for some reason there's an issue they'll attempt to collect it for the next week before dropping it--if you have an error with your payment method, please get it cleared up as soon as possible or it could affect your rewards!
  • We'll receive the first payout from Kickstarter in about 2 weeks, allowing us to move more quickly into production.
  • We'll be sending out surveys through BackerKit where you'll get the chance to pick up any extra add-ons you want or modify your pledge as needed. We'll try to get these out before Thanksgiving, but if we're cutting it close, we'll wait until after the holiday so you can focus on being with your families instead of worrying about filling that out.
  • You'll be charged for shipping sometime after most surveys are completed, depending on the circumstances that may be after the new year, but we'll let you know when we get closer to the date!
  • Finally, we'll be keeping you updated as we move through the comic--Dahlia's process is a bit slower than normal, so updates may not come the most frequently, but we usually try to have some kind of update every month so you can stay up to speed!

Again, I want to say I know times are not the easiest and a lot of people are cutting back, so your support here means so much to us! We promise to work as hard as we can to make something special for you guys.

Talk soon!

Final Push!
7 months ago – Mon, Nov 10, 2025 at 08:23:16 AM

Hello Everyone!

It's the final 48 hours of the campaign and we're giving it all we've got to hit our $7500 stretch goal! Emails went out this morning for all the stragglers who have followed but not pledged, we spent all weekend handing out QR codes at WindyCon 51, and we'll be on bluesky spreading the word from now until the campaign ends!

Thank you all so much for being here and supporting this book, I know times aren't the easiest, so it means the world that you're choosing to show your support now! I encourage everyone to double check your add-ons and to share the project on your preferred social media and tell people why you're excited about it. Every little bit helps!

Dreamhouse: An Existential Suspense Graphic Novella

"Dreamhouse is an existential suspense graphic novella in the vein of John Carpenter’s THE THING or the works of David Lynch. Dreamhouse follows Jack and Jill, a couple working through a difficult time in their relationship while backpacking in the wilderness.

"When an injury causes Jack to leave Jill at their campsite in order to find help, he finds himself being pursued by what appears to be a pack of wolves. As Jack reaches his breaking point, he stumbles upon the last thing he expected, a perfect mid century modern house in the middle of the woods. Jack is overcome with relief, but slowly begins to realize that things are not as they seem and not everyone is who they say they are, even himself."

Robert Wilson IV is a stand up member of the indie comics community that works endlessly to help creators early in their careers to make connections and find footing in a chaotic, intimidating industry. He's also a damn good artist and storyteller, so I can think of no reason why you wouldn't want to support him and his newest book! Check it out here!

Let's do it!

One Week Left!
7 months ago – Tue, Nov 04, 2025 at 10:07:33 AM

Hello Everyone!

Not surprisingly, we had a bit of a lull over Halloween, but we're back on track with one week left in the campaign! I believe we can hit our $7500 stretch goal before the end and secure you guys some more freebies and extras, but that will depend on how much we can get the word out between then and now!

For our final push, we want to get over 300 backers and, to accomplish that, we'll be talking with Pop Culture Squad tonight at 8pm EST as well as attending Windycon 51 this weekend and telling everyone that passes by the booth about the project! If you're available to tune in for either of those, we'd appreciate the support!

It's always a marathon, not a sprint, and this is the period of time generally referred to as "the wall." Luckily, we've got plenty of steam left, so let's smash through that wall and have a great final outing for this comic!

Seasons Vol. 1-2

"Fletcher isn't happy with his life anymore. His breaking point occurs after the love of his life rejects him, sending Fletcher spiraling through a year-long journey into a world unseen. A world full of shadows and persons with superhuman abilities and traumas not unlike his own. Fletcher soon discovers that his own powers change with the seasons and he must not only learn how to adapt to these changes, but how to accept the changes -- whether for better or worse -- in his own life. Enter this allegorical character-study that explores complex themes of identity, mental illness, existence, purpose, and personal responsibility.

"SEASONS is James O’Barr’s The Crow meets M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable."

It's rare that I go out of my way to talk about the panelling and presentation on a book, but the style of this collection of OGNs is really spectacular and worth pointing out! The incredible black and white art is dynamically presented in a way that both clearly drives the story and commands your attention. It's great and there's over 200 pages of it, check it out here!

Talk soon, let's keep up the charge!

First Stretch Goal UNLOCKED!
8 months ago – Wed, Oct 29, 2025 at 11:30:04 AM

Hello Everyone!

Would you look at that, only a day later we've hit stretch goal #1! I guess we'll need to get writing that short story for the comic!

You can pick up the "Anguish" print by Dahlia Maha right now through your add-ons and help move us a little closer to our next stretch goal where we'll unlock a new variant cover AND all backers will get a digital copy of "Rubbing Elbows", a free digital short comic drawn by Kath Lobo (Good Game, Well Played; Unlimited: Power Rangers) about the worst entry level job of all time!

Big thanks to everyone who got us here in no time at all, let's keep it up!

Projects We Support!

Alpha Cat #1

"After being a soldier in the devastating Insect Wars, Alpha and his crew are exploring the galaxy. They come across a distress call and an ancient robot temple which hides a powerful secret. Scoundrels are captured and artifacts are recovered, but events have now been set in motion that raise troubling questions. Is the Insect Imperium gathering strength again? Why did most of the robots retreat to Robot Moon after the war? What is the true purpose of the hidden robot temples? And why are they suddenly being attacked by space pirates? Alpha must solve these challenging mysteries, and fast, to save the Animal Alliance.

"I have always loved Star Trek and the kinetic, over-the-top fun of video games like Ratchet and Clank, so Fernando and I talked about the feel of the book, the characters, and the story we wanted to tell, and we both realized we wanted science fiction, action, adventure, and fun, hopeful vibes all mixed together in a comic book blender. The result was Alpha Cat. We hope you enjoy it!"

A bit of a different vibe from what we've got going here, but here's the thing: Fernando Pinto rules and I will always hype up his art and whatever projects he's got going at the moment! Mancini is a great writer that knows how to bring out the best of Nando's style and I have no doubt that this hyper animated space animal beast of a comic is going to crush it just as much as their previous work on Long Ago and Far Away! Check it out here!

Darkade: An Arcade Horror Comic

"For over 20 years, avid gamer Sam has hidden her estranged father’s legacy as owner of Benningworths. An abandoned arcade located on Plank Pier, Coney Island.  A place haunted by countless allegations of child abduction and crime back in the 90’s.. Sam’s father himself now missing, long presumed dead. The place now just a condemned waste ground.

"With Sam’s own funds dwindling and desperate for money – Sam makes the decision to return to Plank Pier in the hope of recovering a collection of her father’s own rare motherboards to sell online. In doing so, Sam will discover something far darker lurks in the shadows of the abandoned pier."

Darkade has a vintage style in every sense of the word and, as a lover of strange horror fiction, I can't wait for it! The colors on this book especially are beautiful and compliment the scratchy line art incredibly well--it reminds me of Caspar Wijngaard's work on Home Sick Pilots or All Against All (which, if you've read those books, is high praise!). Check it out here!

Talk soon guys!
